THE TONY PALMER FILM FESTIVAL
On Saturday the League will show two movies: Mr. Palmer’s New" Director’s cut" of PARSIFAL-The Search For the Grail, starring Plácido Domingo and conducted by Valery Gergiev. The other film that afternoon, will be a World Premiere of Mr. Palmer’s new documentary on the Wagner Family. This film will trace the events surrounding the Wagner dynasty up to the present day. Mr. Palmer promises that this will be a controversial and thought provoking event.
The second day of the festival the League will host a screening of Mr. Palmer’s epic film WAGNER, starring Richard Burton and a stellar cast. This 6 1/2 hour film will be shown in three segments with appropriate meal breaks. UCLA’s chair of the Theater, Film, and TelevisionSchool, Dr. Michael Hackett will introduce the films and conduct a Q and A session with Mr. Palmer after each performance.
Seating at the Bridge’s auditorium on the UCLA campus is limited. Festival tickets are available on-line to Opera League Members only.. CLICK HERE to order.
